THE COUNTDOWN BEGINS FOR SIAT 2011

Symposium on International Automotive Technology (SIAT) is a benchmark event organized by ARAI biennially. SIAT serves as an important forum for presenting the achievements and innovative strengths of the automotive industry.

The forthcoming 12^th edition of Symposium on International Automotive Technology 2011 (SIAT 2011) is scheduled at ARAI, Pune (India) from 19 to 22 January 2011. SIAT 2011 will focus key areas like Safety, Alternate Fuels, Future Engine Technologies, Emissions, NVH, Automotive Electronics, Structural Evaluation, Vehicle Engineering and Materials. The theme of SIAT 2011 “Sustainable Mobility - A Creative Challenge” is in continuation with our previous theme ECO-Mobility. It is apt for the current times as it focuses on innovative advancements in automotive technologies to meet future challenges.

The world is witnessing an unprecedented growth in the personal mobility. Automotive sector in India is also booming. With the globalization of Indian economy, several multi-national companies have set up their manufacturing plants in India, making India a global automotive hub. Rapid spurt in demand and stringent regulations have posed challenges before the automotive industry to produce safer, fuel-efficient and eco-friendly vehicles. Indian component industry is also emerging as a major supplier for the global auto market. This highlights the need for innovation to develop high performance, cost effective, fuel efficient and clean vehicles for future generations.

SIAT brings automotive experts across the globe together on a common platform to share their thoughts and innovative ideas concerning recent developments in the automotive technology. Overseas experts will get a chance to interact with the counterparts from the Indian automotive OEM and Component Industry and share ideas and explore business opportunities.

SIAT EXPO 2011 will also be conducted concurrently, offering auto and allied companies to display their products / technologies. In SIAT EXPO 160 stalls will be available to prospective national and international exhibitors. Tentative layout of the stalls is presented in this announcement.

I have great pleasure in bringing out this 1^st Announcement of SIAT 2011. The first announcement invites professionals, engineers and academicians to present / share their work in the field of automotive technology during this Symposium. The Advisory Committee looks forward to receive continual wholehearted support from entire Automotive Community.
